Ingredients
  

Waffle Donut Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.125 tsp cloves optional
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup milk or apple cider
  • 1.5 cups diced apples

Glaze

  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk or cream
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat waffle iron and grease lightly.
  • Whisk dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Mix butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and milk.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, fold in apples.
  • Spoon batter into waffle iron and cook until golden.
  • Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth.
  • Dip warm waffle donuts into glaze and let set.

Notes

Best served warm. Use firm apples for best texture.
