Ingredients
  

Dough

  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp instant yeast
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Caramel Topping

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Mix yeast, sugar, and warm milk. Let foam.
  • Add butter, egg, vanilla. Stir in flour and salt.
  • Knead dough until smooth. Let rise 1 hour.
  • Prepare caramel in saucepan. Pour into baking dish.
  • Roll dough, fill with butter, sugar, cinnamon.
  • Cut and place over caramel. Rise 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes.
  • Invert and serve warm.

Notes

Best served warm. Add nuts or fruit if desired.
