Ingredients
  

Broth Base

  • 2 inch fresh ginger root peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp turmeric root or powder
  • 2 cloves garlic lightly crushed
  • 1–2 tsp honey or maple syrup optional
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary optional
  • pinch black pepper enhances turmeric absorption

Instructions
 

  • Peel and slice the ginger. Crush garlic lightly.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, ginger, turmeric, and garlic. Bring to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 15–20 minutes to infuse flavors.
  • Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and optional herbs.
  • Add black pepper and sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Strain the broth into bowls or mugs and serve warm.

Notes

Can be stored in fridge for up to 3 days. Double batch can be frozen in ice cube trays.
