Ingredients
  

Donut Batter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon optional
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup milk or buttermilk

Glaze

  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • purple and clear sugar crystals
  • edible glitter optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture until smooth.
  • Spoon batter into donut pan cavities, filling 3/4 full.
  • Bake 12–15 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
  • Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust thickness if needed.
  • Dip cooled donuts into glaze. Sprinkle sugar crystals and edible glitter on top. Allow glaze to set.

Notes

For extra sparkle, layer different shades of sugar crystals to mimic natural amethyst gradients.
