Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.66 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup dried plums finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Whisk flour and salt together in a bowl.
  • Cream butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients and fold in dried plums.
  • Chill dough for 30–45 minutes.
  • Roll dough, cut into stars, and place on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 12–15 minutes.
  • Cool completely before serving or decorating.

Notes

Do not overbake; shortbread should remain pale with lightly golden edges.
